Does my spouse need an IL-PIN if we are using tax preparation software to file a joint return?

If you are filing a joint return, each taxpayer must have an IL-PIN to use tax preparation software. If the tax return or post card you received from us does not have an IL-PIN for your spouse, you will not be able to use tax preparation software.  You may use our automated Personal Identification Number inquiry system to check to see if you were issued IL-PINs.
