What is the difference between an ACH debit payment and an ACH credit payment?

The ACH debit payment option is the electronic transfer of funds from your account to our account.  You may use our data center's toll-free telephone number, or include your debit information when you file your return electronically, or electronically transmit your debit information as a "stand alone" payment separate from your return.  Note:  These three ACH debit payment options are not available for all tax types.

The ACH credit payment option is an electronic transfer that occurs when you, using a system provided by your own financial institution, originate an entry for deposit into our account.

We recommend that you contact your financial institution to find out about their ACH services and any associated fees.
