Can I get an IL-PIN if this is the first time I have filed an individual income tax return with Illinois?

No.  We do not issue an IL-PIN for first time filers with Illinois. Therefore, you cannot use tax preparation software this year. Once you file a return with us, we will issue an IL-PIN so you can use tax preparation software for your return next year.
